A Fine And Rare Pair Of Long Spanish Flintlock Holster Pistols By Vaxarias, Ripoll, Circa 1750 With Fine Rootwood Fullstocks.
11 and 1/2 inch Spanish form barrels .63 caliber. Octagonal breeches with touch marks, crown and “VAX/ARI/AS”. Very fine stepped lock plates engraved with a lion and stand of arms at tail. Finely molded frizzens with gold poincon of the renowned Deop of Ripoll. Elegant austere brass furniture includes finely molded spurred buttcaps with stepped skull crusher pommels.
Beautiful highly figured root wood full stocks in fine condition. Actions are very crisp and bores are good. Overall fine condition. 18 and 1/2 inches overall. This is a very elegant long pair by two of Ripoll’s well known master gunmakers.
