Stout 14 and 1/2 inch diamond shape blade 1 and 1/4 inch wide at flat ricasso, Arrow shaped point revealed once the dagger is sprung and the outside flanges are a full 14 inches wide making it easy to catch and turn the opponent’s rapier. The blade with forging striations and period copper repair.

Quality throughout is exemplary and mechanism works perfectly. Beautiful ribbed down curving quillons with finely fluted rung guard. Shield shaped pommel fluted ensuite with the ring. Twisted wire bound waisted wood grip surmounted by “Turk’s Heads”.

20 inches overall. This is a rare type of dagger one never sees other than pale 19th century imitations that do not work properly. Condition overall is fine and the dagger is tight. The balance is perfect for fighting and this blade meant business 400 years ago.
