A Very Elegant And Rare Empire Period Continental Double Barrel Flintlock Carriage Pistol French Circa 1800.
7 and 5/8th inch round barrels with copper fore-sight. The barrels beautifully blued and finely decorated throughout their length with gold Damascening comprising lovely intertwined vines and blossoms, a large sunburst surrounding the front sight, and gold banded muzzles. Flat austere lock plates with swan neck cocks. Polished steel mounts with sculpted triggerguard.
Figured walnut fullstock finely checkered at wrist. Actions are good on both full and half cock and all small parts appear to be original. 60 caliber with clean bores. Condition overall is excellent with the barrels retaining 90%+ original blue and gold Damascening. Wood is excellent.
