A Massive And Most Impressive Genuine Confederate Civil War “Bowie” Knife Circa 1861-1865.
The impressive blade measures 16 and 3/4 inches in length and 1 and 3/4 inches at the forte. Five cabalistic marks at forte. Blade exhibits an untouched patina with untouched patches of medium pitting. The spine of this Yankee killing blade is 1/8 th inches thick.
Classic and well formed D-Guard hilt with 3 inch wide tapering steel guard, Beautiful honey-colored patinated oak grip, Wonderful construction throughout. Weighs 2 pounds and balances well, 22 and 5/8th inches overall.
To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee “This is a KNIFE”.
