A Fine And Historic E.C. Meachem St. Louis Conversion Sharps Model 1874 Buffalo Rifle Serial 30841.

30 Inch heavy octagonal barrel. 45-100 caliber. Complete with long telescopic sight by E.N. Mogg, Marcellus, New York. This is a classic buffalo Sharps rifle by Meacham carried West by one of the hundreds of enthusiastic Eastern and Midwesterners consumed with “hunting fever” and stories of wealth and fame nurtured by Ned Buntline and Buffalo Bill Cody. This is a classic and highly desirable heavy Sharps buffalo rifle in the buffalo killing 45-100 caliber.

The barrel with large German silver partridge sight retaining some fading original blue finish but obviously well cared for. The action is crisp. The coarsely checkered stock is excellent with original varnish. The Sharps buttplate retains 40% case colors. Schnoble fore-end is good with expected hand wear. The scope missing lenses but otherwise fine. Double set triggers work perfectly and the bore is good to fine.

This is THE classic buffalo rifle of legend and carries with it all the lore of America’s Western Expansion.
