An Unusually Attractive And Fine High Comb Black And White Morion Of The So-Called Munich Town Guard Type Circa 1600.

Weighing a full 4 pounds, the morion of classic two piece construction with 4 and 3/8th inch comb, embossed with highly stylized fleur de lis amid waves. The central area of the skull embossed with a traditional fleur de lis amid a large circle of waves. 16 rosettes adorn the lower part of the skull once holding the leather lining (now missing).

Double sharp peaks and well roped brim further enhance this fine morion. The exterior with blackened surface and bright metal relief embossed panels. The interior finely patinated from centuries of care.
