This is a 16th Century Italian Pisan Battle Shield etched with vines, flowers, arabesques and soldiers.

The shield diameter is approximately 22 ½ inches. The central spike or boss lacking.

Remnants of the period leather straps are still attached.

This is a nice solid, original fighting shield rarely seen today.
